Described as “Picasso and Van Gogh’s illegitimate son”, Jack Giovinetti is
a contemporary artist whose art you can’t help but feel deep within your soul.

Welcome to the mind of this inspired Artist, Sculptor & Poet.

Jack Giovinetti appears to be an unlikely artist. At an imposingly muscular 6’7″ he looks more like a football player, than the enlightened soul he is. He was raised in Philadelphia in the 1980’s; A gritty place not necessarily associated with enlightenment. As the son of an Italian American police officer in the city, Jack was taught to value Sunday dinners and the people and relationships that make them unforgettable.  At some point when he was growing up, Jack realized there was more to life than our relationships on this earth… that there was a celestial realm and spirits that most people did not connect with or understand.

Described as “Picasso and Van Gogh’s illegitimate son”, Jack Giovinetti is a contemporary artist whose art you can’t help but feel deep within your soul. His life has not been an easy one, having had his share of tragic moments. With each obstacle, Jack’s spiritual journey expanded, his senses heightened and his creativity further enhanced. His ability to “know” is a spiritual gift and very often the inspiration for his work. You’ll notice that the images he creates often depict angels, as well as people in the midst of intense emotion. As he creates these he has no idea what the finished product will look like. He gets motivated to put a vision on paper, but is never sure of what that vision is until he steps back and takes a look when completed. It’s really as if he is in a deep meditative space when creating. Jack says that many times he has had someone he meets tell him that one of his paintings looks like someone close to them or really resonates with them deeply. He is sure that the paintings, drawings and sculptures are never meant for him.

Jack Giovinetti is simply the conduit by which the heavens speak to those he comes in contact with. His ability to capture our emotions (especially those he’s never met) and put them perfectly into a piece of art that calls our name… in under an hour no less, is simply astonishing! Jack Giovinetti is a self trained soulful master who works with pencil, charcoal, oil, acrylic and… melted crayon, which creates an image that is extremely vibrant and intensely soulful, just like him.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING…

Art is a subject most people know, observe, reflect and appreciate, but never indulge in their lifetime. For Jack Giovinetti a blank canvas is a caged animal. Many years ago he found his passion standing before them and unlocking their prisons. A native of South Philadelphia, Jack has traveled the world and yet never left his home on many levels. He is a son, brother, father of 5, husband and a man of many friends and close relations. Jack has brought his lifetime and ancient soul to the art of making art. He holds nothing back when he paints. He follows no rules or natural order of practice, in order to move his audience past their confines of comfort, to embrace vision & feeling… of things and emotions never realized.

In this exhibition, Jack feels a cleansing of new and old work as one would shake out their old laundry & new linen for the wind to catch the edges, and the dimensions to reach for the sky…
